The following preview of Jimmy’s Supper Club is a guest post by my friend Andy. He’s not even a food blogger or nuffink. But he does like food and East London is his patch, so hear him out, yeah?
Jimmy’s Supper Club @ Annex East, Stratford
If you’re suffering from post-Olympics depression as much as I am, the thought of the Paralympics offers another hit of London Games-fun following the intense high the city experienced last month. To offer enthusiasts some grub after a day at the Olympic Park, new East London arts space Annex East is hosting a pop-up, Jimmy’s Supper Club, which returns to the site for a further ten night stint from 29th August following a successful debut during Olympic week.

Jimmy’s Supper Club began in Balham, “Gateway to the South”.
The “immersive dining experience” is bought to us by Jimmy Garcia, founder of recent Hackney pop-up, The Wild Food Kitchen, and the new event is situated just a hop, skip and a jump from the Olympic Park in Stratford. Each night sees a different themed dining event, including film and food pairings such as a Thai menu and screening of backpacker classic, The Beach, complete with buckets of cocktails. If the prospect of a night reliving my island hopping early 20s sound-tracked by All Saints isn’t enough, the snobbish older Andy is also excited about the Opening Ceremony fine dining event on the 29th – a 5 course tasting menu and Champagne reception. A write-up from yours truly of the fireworks, fizz and frolics will follow in due course. Watch this space.
